Shockwave is used for the treatment of musculo-skeletal soft tissue pain and associated disorders in horses.

What is shock wave therapy?

Extracorporeal shockwave therapy (ESWT) focuses a wave of sound energy through a machine to the specific area in the body being treated.  The sound waves are created outside the body and through the machine are able to target specific areas.

ESWT is commonly used for treating orthopeadic problems in horses, including tendon and ligament injuries, kissing spinenavicular syndrome, and arthritis.

This treatment is non-invasive and pain free.

The shockwaves travel deep into the skin to encourage healing.

Shockwaves are characterised by a very high and rapid pressure followed by a rapid decrease in pressure to a negative level.
